Oliver Cole is a songwriter who currently lives in Dublin Ireland. He was the main songwriter and frontman of a band called Turn who released 3 albums between 2000 and 2006.
He released his first solo album on EMI in 2010 to critical acclaim. The Times newspaper awarded the album 5 out of 5 and heralded it album of the month, his new album is said to be quite a departure and is due for release in 2013.
These songs are a collection of out takes and b-sides from his first solo album "We Albatri"
We albatri was so named as he thought it was the plural for albatrosses.. it's not, it's albatrosses.
The song "Shadow of the Empire" is a song based in New York city and was recorded live in RTE studios in Dublin.
Ollie's next solo album is out in spring next year, it features songs with fellow songwriters and touring buddies Glen Hansard and Gemma Hayes.
